Bill - Treatment Area Supervisor Weaknesses: Sunbathing, eating plastic and strings to masks.
My favorite thing about having APS as my home is that I can explore a hospital! I am always finding new places to hide and am always on the lookout for food! All of the APS staff are my pets, they answer to me (I am very demanding)! My favorite quote is, "People who don't like cats were probably mice in a past life."
Dr. Lindsay Laird I earned my DVM degree in 2010 from Virginia Tech University. My favorite thing about working here is being able to help you and your pets. I have a Pitbull mix named Rufus who is known for the nickname "Blockhead" here at APS. My favorite quote is, "Always aim for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars."
Katie Marshall - Hospital Lead/Co- Head Veterinary Technician My favorite thing about working here is being able to help out in every department. I started out as a Kennel tech in 2015, and now I am a Veterinary Technician going to school to become licensed in the State of Maryland. I have also been trained in the receptionist area, so you'll see me up there from time to time. I also really enjoy my strong bonds with the clients and their pets. I have a zoo at my house which consists of a black lab named Maui, a beagle named Libby, a red lab named Kailua, two cats named Motley Crue and Buggie, an aquarium of fish, AND four chickens named Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Reba, and Dolly Parton. My favorite quote is, "No matter how much it hurts, how dark it gets, or how hard you fall, you are never out of the fight." - Marcus Luttrell, retired United States Navy SEAL
Damian Marzorrati - Veterinary Technician My favorite thing about working here is training Katie to perform dentals and Dawn to monitor animals while they're in surgery, under anesthesia. I have three cats named Zeke, Toby, and Siri. My favorite quote is, "It is what it is." - Bill Belichik
Ron Rawlinson - Kennel Technician My favorite thing about working here is the dogs. I have a Mastiff/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix named Taylor. My favorite quote is, "Get 'er done." - Larry the Cable Guy
Lisa McKeague - Practice Manager My favorite thing about working at APS is getting to know our clients and their pets and watching their journey together and being able to help them, along the way, when they need me. I also really enjoy working with our wonderful APS staff, such beautiful, caring people. I currently have two newly adopted cats named Butch and Sundance (Sunny), one dog named DeeDee, and one bird named Caesar, who has shared life with me for more than thirty years. I have been very fortunate to share my life with some amazing cats(5)and dogs(3), who are waiting for me on the Rainbow Bridge 🌈. One of my favorite quotes is, "In a world where you can be anything, be kind."
Dr. Jeanette Porteous I received my doctorate from Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine (Virginia Tech) in 2010. I specialize in Internal medicine, ultrasound diagnostics, and behavioral medicine. My favorite part about working here is how hardworking and caring the staff is. The positive environment is awesome, too! I have two dogs, a Weimaraner named Oscar and a French Bulldog named Alice! My favorite quote is, "What lies behind you and what lies in front of you, pales in comparison to what lies inside of you." - Ralph Waldo Emrson.
Leanne Lohmeyer - Receptionist My favorite part about working here is the people. The staff is so kind and friendly and the clients show true care and concern for their pets.
I have a Border Collie/Spaniel mix named Wish, a Boarder Collie named Ketch, and an English Cocker Spaniel named Joey. My favorite quote is - "Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved." - Winnie the Pooh
Kylie Plumb - Kennel Technician My favorite thing about working at APS is that I get to take care of the dogs and play with them everyday! I have two dogs named Diesel and Patches; and two cats named Copper and Nova. My favorite quote is, "There are far better things ahead than any we leave behind."
Jenna Donovan - Veterinary Technician/Receptionist My favorite part about working here is that the staff is very positive and willing to help out. I have a Pug named Buddy. My favorite quote is, "A life lived in love will never be dull."

Dr. Jeanette Porteous

Dr. Porteous joins the team at Arnold Pet Station in February 2021. She has lived in Maryland for most of her life and is a graduate of the University of Maryland College Park and Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Porteous’ love of animals was inspired by her favorite movie growing up, Dr. Dolittle – and so a career in veterinary medicine was a natural fit for her! Internal medicine, ultrasound diagnostics and behavioral medicine are a few of her specialty areas.
When not caring for the furry patients at Arnold Pet Station, Dr. Porteous enjoys agility and obedience training with her pups, Oscar the Weimaraner and Alice the French Bulldog.

Our Approach – Fear Free Veterinary Visits

Arnold Pet Station is proud to be a part of the Fear Free Veterinary initiative.

At Arnold Pet Station, we use aromatherapy, pheromone therapy, food therapy and when necessary, light anti-anxiety medications. Research has shown that the scents of Lavender and Camomile are calming to both humans and pets. We use these scents throughout the hospital.

We use pheromones to calm your pets. Upon arrival at the front desk, your cat will be wrapped in a blanket sprayed with Feliway, a synthetic pheromone similar to a pheromone cats use to mark their territory as safe and secure. When dogs arrive, they are offered a bandana sprayed with Adaptil, which is similar to the pheromone that mother dogs emit to their puppies to comfort them. We work hard to keep your pet’s time in the waiting room to a minimum. All of our exam rooms have pheromone diffusers.

We love to give treats! We have special treats for food allergic animals too. Our staff cares just as much about your pet’s emotional well-being as their physical well-being during their routine visits.

If we are still not successful in reducing your pets’ stress and anxiety to an acceptable level, we can use anti-anxiety medicines or reschedule at your convenience.
